Terms & Conditions & Cancellation Policy
As You Are Counselling is committed to providing professional, respectful, and ethical counselling services. The following terms outline important information about appointments, cancellations, and the use of our services.
Appointments and sessions
Counselling sessions are offered by appointment only and may be delivered either in person or online. Session length and fees are outlined at the time of booking. Appointments are confirmed through our online booking system or direct communication.
Clients are encouraged to attend sessions on time. If you arrive late, the session will still conclude at the scheduled time to respect other appointments.
Fees and payment
Fees are payable at the time of booking or as otherwise outlined during the booking process. Payments are managed securely through our booking platform.
As You Are Counselling does not currently offer Medicare rebates. Any available rebates or funding options will be clearly communicated where applicable.
Cancellations and missed appointments
We understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Cancellations made with more than 24 hours’ notice will not incur a fee.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time, or failure to attend a scheduled session, may be charged the full session fee.
This policy helps ensure availability for other clients and respects the time set aside for your appointment.
Late cancellations due to unexpected circumstances
We recognise that genuine emergencies and unexpected situations can arise. If this occurs, please contact us as soon as possible. Each situation will be considered respectfully and on a case-by-case basis.
Online sessions
Online counselling sessions are delivered using secure, privacy-conscious platforms. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection and a private space to attend sessions.
If technical difficulties prevent an online session from proceeding, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or complete the session where possible.
Confidentiality and limits
Counselling sessions are confidential, subject to legal and ethical obligations. Information may be disclosed if required by law, or if there is a serious and immediate risk to the safety of the client or others.
Further information about how personal information is handled can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Scope of service
As You Are Counselling provides general counselling services and does not offer crisis intervention, emergency services, or psychiatric treatment.
If you are experiencing an immediate mental health crisis, please contact emergency services (000) or a crisis support service such as Lifeline (13 11 14).
As You Are Counselling works within the scope of counselling practice and professional competence in accordance with Australian Counselling Association ethical guidelines.
